Downs View Squash Academy

Stephen and Finn are both England Squash Coaches with many years of experience between them. Finn is a Level 2 Club Coach and was also awarded the prestigious England Squash Young Coach of the Year Award in 2016 for his contributions to developing squash at Uckfield and Nutley. Stephen has achieved the England Squash Level 3 (Talent Development Award) qualification and is the Academy Head Coach. Completing the team is Maddie Holliday a Level One Coach.

The primary objective of the academy is to develop and expand squash in the area by offering a range of affordable and enjoyable activities and sessions catering to different ages and standards. While we have successfully coached juniors to county level (with one junior a national county champion with his age group), we are equally happy encouraging and nurturing complete beginners!

We currently offer the following sessions on a weekly basis during term time:

FREEDOM LEISURE UCKFIELD, SQUASH JUNIOR TRAINING SESSIONS

Monday afternoons during school terms

Friday Mornings Coffee Morning Squash – social squash session followed by tea/coffee and biscuits

Mondays Evenings (term time) Ladies Only Session – training and coaching for mixed ability ladies

PRIVATE LESSONS AVAILABLE:

In addition to above, we offer individual and small group sessions by private arrangement (Stephen £30/hour, Finn £25/hour).

Further to the formal sessions offered, the Academy is also active in organising club tournaments, competitive teams in the men’s, ladies and junior Sussex Squash Leagues and other miscellaneous events.
